Matthew M. Wentz, 30, of John Brown Rd., Guys Mills, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Meadville October 9, 1977 a son of Thomas and Kitty Kelly Wentz. He married Jennifer Karns April 5, 2008 and she survives.
He was a 1996 graduate of Maplewood High School and the Crawford County Vo-Tech Tool and Die program. During high school he worked at Layke Tool and Die and after graduation he worked at various tool and die shops in Pennsylvania and Texas. After returning to the area from Texas in 2002 he became a self-employed tool and die maker.
He was an avid sky-diver, enjoyed tinkering and fixing things, enjoyed nature, the outdoors and hunting and especially loved his family.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer who is expecting their first child in September; his parents, Thomas and Kitty Wentz of Guys Mills; four brothers, Gregg Wentz and his wife Vicky of Townville, Kerry Wentz and his wife Susan of Guys Mills, Trevor Wentz of Guys Mills and Keith Wentz and his wife Katie of Lancaster, OH; his maternal grandmother, Sylvia Kelly of Centerville; his mother-in-law, Trudy Bloomquist and her husband David of Frewsburg, NY; his father-in-law, G. Bruce Karns of Cochranton; five nieces, two nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Don Russell, officiating.
Burial will be in Lyona Cemetery.
