Maude V. Bowes

Maude V. Bowes, 83, a resident of Beverly Health Care, Meadville, died Thursday, October 21, 1999 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.

She was born February 29, 1916 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Bell Peters.  She married Arthur W. Bowes February 20, 1937.  He preceded her in death April 28, 1973.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed bingo and collecting magnets.  She especially loved raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren.  She attended Stone United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Mary) Stolp of Middletown, CA and Mrs. Fred (Carol) Cornell of Meadville; one brother, Frank Peters of OH; four grandchildren, Joetta Catalano, Michael Cornell, Candace Cornell and Jamison Gorby; five great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters and one grandson, Andy Cornell.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
