Maureen Heaslip) Kightlinger

April 19, 1953 — July 7, 2022

Maureen (Renee Heaslip) Kightlinger left this world peacefully in her sleep on July 7, 2022. She was born April 19, 1953 in Meadville to Mildred (Heaslip) Shreve who preceded her in death in 2013. Renee was raised lovingly by Betty Powell and her husband Larry who both preceded her as well. Renee graduated from Meadville High School in 1971 and subsequently attended Penn State Behrend. She married Rob Kightlinger on December 2, 1988 and he survives. Renee worked in the family auto parts business for many years including Mohawk Auto, Dauber Supply in Edinboro, and Petersons Auto in Saegertown. She was an expert paint mixer and was known as one of the best in the area. She and Rob purchased North End Service in 1999 and she would finish her working years at Campbell Pottery. Renee was a devout lover of live theatre and devoted many years to Meadville Community Theatre as an actress, assistant director, costumer and properties manager. She also served on the MCT board for many years in many positions including president. She also acted on the stage of the Meadville Council on the Arts Gardner Theatre and at the Academy Theatre. She spent many years doing tickets and hospitality with the Allegheny Jazz Society. Renee was a spotlight operator for many years for the featured acts at the Crawford County Fair and she was a long-time member of Meadville Elks Lodge 219. She loved gardening and was a former member of the Penn State Master Gardeners. Renee also was a collector of antiques and vintage clothing. She was a Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Penguins fan. She absolutely loved the beach and spent many vacations with friends on North Carolinas Outer Banks. Renee was always one to take the road less traveled. In addition to her husband Rob, she is survived by her mother-in-law, Gerry Kightlinger and her beloved cats as well as many extended family members and friends. Per Renees wishes, there are no services scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elks National Foundation, c/o Meadville Elks Lodge 219, 14420 Baldwin St. Ext. or to Meadville Community Theatre, P.O. Box 330, both of Meadville, PA 16335. The arrangements have been entrusted to the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where memories and condolences may be shared at www.waidfuneralhome.net
