Maurice L. Gordon

The Rev. Maurice L. Gordon, Jr., 47, pastor of St. John's Baptist Church, died at his home in Meadville, Monday, October 4, 1965.

He came to Meadville last July to assume the duties of pastor of the local church.  A native of Staunton, VA, he was associated with the Jerusalem Baptist Church at Pittsburgh.  He was a graduate of Gordon College at Boston and the Reformed Presbyterian Seminary at Pittsburgh.

The Rev. Mr. Gordon was born January 13, 1918, a son of the Rev. and Mrs. Maurice L. Gordon, Sr.  His mother is the former Lucy Banks.  He married Patricia Wynn, December 16, 1950.

Surviving, besides his widow, are five children all at home, Patrick, Renee, Michele, Maurice III and Patricia Gail; his father of Pittsburgh; five sisters, Mrs. William (Edna) Ross and Mrs. Leo (Thelma) Blevins of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Howard (Eunice) Wilson and Mrs. Clarence (Harriet) Law of Wilkinsburg and Mrs. Oscar (Elaine) Nelson of Beaver Falls.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
