Maurice V. McKee, 69, of Meadville, died at DePaul Hospital, Cheyenne, WY, Thursday, July 24, 1975, after being taken ill while on a bus tour of the West.
Born in East Springfield, March 14, 1906, a son of Cordela and Elizabeth Cadmus McKee. He married Dorothy Jelbart October 31, 1931. He came to Meadville in 1929 after serving as an engineer for Hanna Steel on the Great Lakes ore boats shipping out of Chicago. A powerhouse foreman with Meadville Plant, FMC Corp., he retired in 1969 after 39 years of service. He was a member of Stone Methodist Church.
A member of Lake Erie Masonic Lodge 347 at Girard, he also was a member of Solomon Royal Arch Chapter 191 and Northwest Commandery 25, Knights of Templar, both of Meadville, Zem Zem Shrine Temple and the Zem Zem Clowns unit. He also was a member of Meadville Rescue Sqaud.
In addition to his widow, survivors include two sons, David McKee of New Providence, NJ and the Rev. Douglass McKee of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Cheney and Mrs. Margaret Mallory of Conneaut, OH and Mrs. Frances Smith of Lake City; three brothers, Andrew McKee of Erie, Kenneth McKee of Kittanning and Arthur McKee of Crescent City, FL; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
