Max G. Hyde

Max G. Hyde, 64, of Conneaut Lake, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 7, 1952 in Meadville, a son of Max R. Hyde and Effie Louise Kasbee Hyde.  He married Donna Cadman October 10, 1986 and she survives.

Max was a 1971 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.  He drove semi-trailer for 31 years and subsequently was owner and operator of Hyde Garage in Conneaut Lake since 2001 following the death of his father.

Max was a life-member of the Conneaut Lake Park VFD and an auxiliary member of the Linesville VFW Post 7842.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed restoring cars and playing Santa Claus at the VFW and Fire Hall.

Max will always be remembered for the lives he touched with his infectious laugh, his generosity, and his way of making others feel loved.  He enjoyed golf, music, and always having a good time no matter what he was doing.  He enjoyed life to the fullest.  He will be dearly missed by hundreds of friends and family but most of all by his best friend and life-long companion, his loving wife Donna.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Donna of 30 years, include two sons, Max Hyde, Jr. of Albion and Lawrence Shingler and his wife Kelly of Conneaut Lake; a daughter, Vycki Hays and her husband Scott of Atlantic; five grandchildren, Grace, Austin, Elaina, Noah, and Sicily; two brothers, Mark A. Hyde and his wife Terri of Jamestown and Tom R. Hyde of Jamestown; a sister, Sharon Zickafoose of Charlotte, NC; and nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Lee Kasbee.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Brumagin officiating.
