Maxine A. "Mickey" (Burton) Mcfadden

Maxine “Mickey” Adell McFadden, 95, of Blooming Valley died at home Friday, November 30, 2018.

She was born in Meadville July 26, 1923 a daughter of George H. and Mildred Flaugh Burton.  She married James Lloyd McFadden November 26, 1943 and he preceded her in death October 23, 2008.

She worked as a cashier at Meadville Medical Center for 22 years retiring in 1987 and previously had worked as a teletype operator for Western Union.

She was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist church and the Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary.  She was an avid sports fan and loved all animals and would willingly adopt any stray animal that stopped by.  She also enjoyed baking and was known for her chocolate chip cookies and sticky buns.

She is survived by a daughter Suann Cronin (Ed) of Meadville; a daughter-in-law, Genevieve McFadden of Longview, TX; four grandchildren, Shawn, Gerad, Shae Min and Genna McFadden and seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Natalie, Gabby, Cloe, Victoria, Terrance and Ricky.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary M. McFadden and a sister, Joyce Etta Himes.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 4th from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday, December 5th from 10-11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 5th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. J. W. Koe, Pastor of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church, officiating and Rev. Sam Marchetta, Chaplain of Wesbury United Methodist Community participating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to an animal rescue organization of the donor’s choice.
