Mrs. Mellie W. Rhodes, 94, a resident of Meadville Hillside Home for 13 years, died at the home Wednesday morning, November 10, 1965, after a long illness. She was the widow of Williams S. Rhodes.
Mrs. Rhodes was born at Littles Corners, Crawford County, July 3, 1871, a daughter of George and Eliza Patterson Woodward.
She attended the Unitarian Church, Meadville, and was a member of Golden Crown Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are a son, Nellus A. Rhodes of Saegertown; a granddaughter, Mrs. Howard Vogel of Chicago; a great-granddaughter, Miss Faith Vogel of Chicago; and three nieces, Mrs. E. H. Bigler of Meadville and Mrs. Raymond Lewis and Mrs. Harold Dykes of Conneaut Lake.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Saegertown Cemetery.
