Melvin J. Warner

Melvin J. Warner, 95, of Wesbury United Methodist Community died Monday, May 22, 1995, at Wesbury following a period of declining health.

He was born August 25, 1899, in Rural Valley, PA, a son of John H. and Louella Wagner Warner.  He was first married to Eva Traister.  He subsequently married Alma Anthony, November 25, 1952.  She preceded him in death May 21, 1994.

He worked for the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier at the Rimersburg Post Office for 40 years.  After retiring from the postal service, he worked in concessions and maintenance at Conneaut Lake Park for 13 years.  He attended First Church of God and was a former member of Moose Lodge of Clarion, PA.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Beverly) Rhoades of Brookville, PA, Mrs. Pamela Schmidt of Centerville, VA, Mrs. Michael (June) Callen of Matoaca, VA and Mrs. Donald (Neila) Peterson of Meadville; two nephews; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert and Harry Warner and two grandsons.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Squirrel Hill Cemetery, Porter Township, Clarion Co., PA.
