Melvin S. Kent, 81, of Randolph Township near Guys Mills, died at City Hospital Monday morning after several months of ill health.
Mr. Kent was born in Iowa and spent his early years in Missouri and Ohio. He went to Erie 53 years ago and lived there for 21 years, moving to Guys Mills in 1923.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Charlotte M. Kent; two sons, Walger of Guys Mills and Kenneth of Indianapolis, IN; a stepdaughter and stepson, Mrs. C. A. Root and Ralph Fulton, both of Erie; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Rutherford Kent of Bedford, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Radle Cemetery.
