Meredith Anne Finney, 30, of Saegertown, passed away on Saturday, January 18th, 2020, after a hard-fought battle with addiction.
A 2007 graduate of Saegertown Jr./Sr. High School, Meredith was loved by all of her friends. She was a member of the marching band, where she was the first female percussionist. Meredith was also a member of the cross-country team. Outside of school, she was an avid downhill skier, a dancer at local dance schools, and a Girl Scout. Meredith also participated in the People to People Student Ambassador Program as a high school student, traveling to many countries in Europe.
After high school, she attended both Slippery Rock University and Edinboro University. Meredith also had many jobs in the entertainment and service industry, excelling in each one because of her people skills and social nature. Despite moving away from the area, she was loved by the members of Stone United Methodist Church in Meadville, where she attended for many years. She will be fondly remembered by friends and family for her outgoing and loving personality, and her smile that could light up a room. Meredith loved everyone she knew, and they loved her. She cared so much about others and chose to see the good in them, even on her hardest days.
Survivors include her father and mother Bob and Anne Finney of Saegertown; sister Jessica of Saegertown; and an aunt, uncle, and many cousins.
Meredith was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Robert M. and Ella Mae Finney, maternal grandparents Owen and Florence Odell, aunt and uncle Sandy Odell Roiz and Larry Roiz, and cousin Riley Jean Gorski.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, February 1st from 12 to 2 p.m. at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 South Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335 where the memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor, officiating.
