Merton J. Terrill

September 5, 1915 — June 29, 1994

Merton J. Terrill, 78, was owner and operator of Terrill Brothers Garage in Guys Mills, with his brother, Frederick, from 1949 to 1959, and sole operator until 1978, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Terrill, formerly of Guys Mills and a patient at Wengerd's Home Care of Deer Creek Township, Mercer County, since May, died there Wednesday, June 29, 1994, following a period of declining health.

He was born in Randolph Township, September 5, 1915, a son of Harley J. and Bessie Hayes Terrill.  He married M. Lucille Overmoyer, August 19, 1939.  She survives.

He attended Sugar Lake United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Randolph-East Mead High School, class of 1934.  He was a charter member, past president, and member of the first responders team for many years with Randolph Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Elaine) Van Cise of Oil City; two sons, Larry R. Terrill of Bloomingdale, IL and Bruce E. Terrill of Otis Orchards, WA; a sister, Geraldine Irlam of Saegertown; a step-brother, John Gourley of Venango and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marian Terrill; three brothers, Dewey, Frederick and Marshall Terrill; two sisters, Stella Morrison and Lois Stainbrook and a stepsister, Marian Hunter.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
