Michael Edward Rudler

August 20, 1961 — December 21, 2010

Michael Edward Rudler, 49, of State Rt. #98, Meadville, went to his eternal hunting ground Tuesday, December 21, 2010 after suffering a heart attack at his residence.

Mike was born August 20, 1961 in Meadville, the son of M. Edward and Harriet E. (Wilson) Rudler of Meadville, who survive.  He is also survived by a sister, Brenda L. Martin and her husband Tom and their son Ryan of Linesville and many close friends and relatives.

In addition to being a loving, kind and giving son and brother, Mike was the greatest uncle in the world.  He loved spending time with his nephew and was extremely devoted.  "Uncle Mike" built a unique tree house for his nephew three years ago that is celebrated throughout the year with lights and festive decorations.  Family was the utmost priority to Mike and he demonstrated it through the way he lived his life.

Mike was a 1979 graduate of Meadville High School and the Crawford County Vo-Tech where he learned the construction trade.  While in high school, Mike played varsity baseball and that love continued in adulthood as an avid softball player and coach, spending his weekends at softball tournaments with his buddies.

A skilled craftsman by trade, Mike worked several different construction positions throughout his life.  He enjoyed sharing his superior knowledge and expertise with others.  Mike was very meticulous about his work and always persevered to his satisfaction.

Well loved for his readiness to help others in need, Mike has many who will miss him dearly.  He always had a hunting story to share with others that most often brought a smile to all faces.  Mike's greatest joy came when he was in the woods hunting.  He was a skilled hunter who enjoyed the outdoors and had a complete and thorough understanding of the inner connections of man and nature.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Benjamin Travis, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 823 Filmore Avenue, Erie, PA 16505 or a charity of the donor's choice.
