Michael Levi Byler

June 1, 1978 — October 25, 2022

It is with great sadness and yet some joy that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Michael L. Byler. He passed into the arms of Jesus on October 25, 2022 at Meadville Medical Center.

Mikey loved his family and had a passion for trains and animals, but especially birds.  He had an extensive collection of G scale trains and owned several birds. His favorites being Polly a cockatiel, Barney a lovebird and Alex his very talkative Scarlet McCaw.  They all passed before him, Alex 2 years ago on October 30, 2020 at age 28. Mikey had him for 28 years.

In his younger years, he had a pet duck, Daffy who rode his 4-wheeler with him. A German Shephard-Husky mix, Gina who followed along behind on his many trails through the woods on the farm.  For years, he talked on his C.B. radio where he was known as Seahawk.

Mikey loved camping for 29 years at Crawford County and Stoneboro Fairs where his family showed horses.  He put many miles on his motorized scooter traveling the fairgrounds.

We say it is with some joy in his passing, knowing he is in the arms of Jesus, his grandparents and other relatives that have gone on before.  We are sure they welcomed him into Heaven.  What a reunion that would be.

Mike was a very loving and kind soul.  Enjoy your wings Mikey, you deserve so much after having so little in this earthly life.  It will be a challenge to learn to live without you in our lives.  You brought so much joy to those you loved. We will all be together some day as we are called one by one. Mikey believed in God with his whole heart.

Michael Levi Byler was born in Greenville, PA on June 1, 1978 to parents Levi and Susan (Mrvos) Byler. At age 6, he was diagnosed with Friedrich’s Ataxia and walked till age 14, then used his 4-wheeler and motorized scooter to get around.  This very rare neurologic disease slowly robbed him of all of his abilities. He pretty much took it all in stride and with a smile.

Left to cherish all of his memories are his parents Levi and Susan, his two loving sisters, Lori Buchanan and her husband Dale, Lianna Byler at Yale University in Connecticut, his niece Kayti Buchanan and his nephew Kaleb Buchanan, all of Hartstown, PA.  Many cousins, aunts and uncles that he dearly loved. He will be deeply missed.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Tony and Peggy Greco, Peter Mrvos, Andy and Anna Mary Byler; his great-grandparents, Wendell and Bessie Andrews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We want to say a special thanks to Pastor Harry Johns for his comforting words to Michael and his family.  Michael and his family are members of Adamsville Presbyterian Church.

Mikey watch for mom’s herd of dogs coming to greet you when you cross the bridge.

Calling hours will be Friday, October 28, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. at Adamsville Presbyterian Church, 3979 Main Street, Adamsville, PA where the funeral service will follow at 3 p.m.
