Mike Nowak

Mike Novak, 97, of Conneautville, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Rolling Fields.

He was born October 29, 1913 in Uniontown, Juniata County, a son of Nicholay and Theresa (Goldie) Zsellen Novak.  He married Geraldine Eckart November 29, 1935 and she preceded him in death June 20, 1983.

Mike was a self-employed farmer for 47 years, retiring in 1987.  He was very proud of his farm and it was noted for its beauty.  He had also been employed as a truck driver for Warner and Smith Company, Sharon and as a milk hauler for Sealtest, Meadville.

Survivors include a son, Raymond Novak and his wife Barbara of Conneautville; a granddaughter, Pamela Boyer of Saegertown; a grandson, William Novak and his wife Kandace of Whitehall; four great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Louise Novak of Conneautville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, George, Patrick, and Nick Novak, Jr. and six sisters, Anna (Annie) Brown, Mary Kanar, Kathryn (Kate) Legnosky, Helen Novak, Julia Hain, and Antoinetta (Anne) Cooper.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Fuller, Pastor of Littles Corners United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
