Mildred A. Chess

Mildred A. Chess, 76, of 454 Randolph Street, Meadville died Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Cherry Grove, WV February 21, 1930 a daughter of Virgil and Tina Bennett Warner.  She married Glenn Chess July 15, 1949 and he survives.

In her younger years she worked at Talon and then at American Viscose Corp.

She was a member of Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer and was a graduate of Meadville High School.  She was an avid homemaker, loved to cook and her flowers.  She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Glenn of 57 years, include: two daughters, Rhonda Chess of Hartstown and Joy Dragosavac and her husband Bob of Meadville; two sons, Dale Chess of Knoxville, TN and Eugene Chess of Harrisburg, PA; two brothers, Leon Warner of Montgomery, AL and Berlin Warner of Washington, DC; five grandchildren, Erika, Leslie, Drew, Cruz and Shannon and two great grandchildren, Ally and Emma.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Sheldon and one half-sister, Gloria.

Private family services will be Monday at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with the Rev. Mary Kathryn Crom, officiating.

Burial will be in Cochranton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
