Mildred E. Klingensmith, 80, of Meadville, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Corry April 7, 1925, a daughter of the late Thad and Zella Rogers Gates. She married Melvin “Pete” Klingensmith November 26, 1947 and he preceded her in death June 4, 1989.
She was a 1944 graduate of Corry High School. She was a domestic worker and had previously worked at Spaulding’s and was a kitchen worker for Crawford Central School District. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening, and especially loved her family.
She attended St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Carol Kline and husband Harry Jr. of Rock Hill, SC; Cathy Pruskowski and her husband Robert of Cochranton; Debra Conley and her husband Chester of Jamestown; Wanda Hart and her husband Clifton of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; and Bonnie Hunter and her husband Nile of Meadville; a son, Daniel Klingensmith and his wife Carol of Warren, OH; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Mable Knapp and Marian Blount, both of Corry; 3 brothers, Frank Gates of Rew; Merle Gates of Arcadia, FL; and Duane Gates of Deltona, FL; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Duane Klingensmith; a granddaughter, Melissa Pruskowski; an infant sister, Margaret Gates; and 2 brothers, Leo and Neil Gates.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
