Mildred I. Ladner, 93, of 13457 N. Watson Run Road, Conneaut Lake and a brief resident of Hillside Home, Meadville died Wednesday, January 04, 2006 at the Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Meadville March 25, 1912 a daughter of James and Anna Johnson Johnston. She married Stuart E. Ladner February 19, 1936 and he preceded her in death September 13, 2005.
She retired in 1972 as Secretary to the Executive Director of the Meadville office of the Department of Public Welfare after 17 years of service. Previously, she had also worked for the Erie Railroad.
She was a member of Watson Run Presbyterian Church, its first woman Elder, former Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent. She was also a member of the Meadville Woman’s Club and the AARP. She was a 1929 graduate of Meadville High School.
Survivors, include: two sons, Scott E. Ladner and his wife Joyce of Conneaut Lake and Alan M. Ladner and his wife Laura of Meadville; two grandchildren, Jodi Stevens and her husband Kenneth of Conneaut Lake and Timothy Ladner and his wife Jeanne of New Foundland, PA and four great grandchildren, Hannah and Abigail Ladner and Jarrett and Sarah Stevens.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Rupp.
Calling hours will be Friday 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Watson Run Presbyterian Church, 13594 Harmonsburg Road, Meadville with the Rev. Brian Snyder, Pastor and Rev. Frank Duncan, Retired Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
