Mildred K. Logan, 85, formerly of DuBois, PA and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville died Saturday, July 19, 2003 at the Meadville Medical Center.
She was born February 14, 1918 in DuBois, PA a daughter of Clair and Anna Ogden Kohlhepp. She married R. Lester Logan October 20, 1944 and he survives.
She worked as a Bookkeeper for 25 years for Cameron Distributing Co (which subsequently became Penn-Traffic Co.) in DuBois retiring in 1983. Previously, she worked for DuBois Produce Co in bookkeeping for 8 years, for DuBois Deposit Bank as a teller for a few years and as assistant cashier for Penelec in DuBois from 1937-1944.
She was a 1936 graduate of DuBois High School and attended DuBois Business College. She was a member of DuBois First United Methodist Church and was formerly active with its United Methodist Women. Upon moving to Wesbury she regularly attended Chapel services there. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and quilling.
Survivors, in addition to her husband of 58 years, include a daughter, Carletta Howard and her husband William of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandchildren, Hillary Emrick and Heather Howard; one great granddaughter; an aunt, Clarabell Phillips of DuBois; and two cousins, whom she helped raise, Shirley Griffith Naber of Decatur, Il and Thomas Griffith of Orlando, FL.
Calling hours will be Monday from 1-3 p.m. in the Chapel at Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Spencer, United Methodist Clergyman, officiating.
Additionally calling hours will be Tuesday from 12 – 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 100 W. Long Avenue, DuBois, PA. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Beel, Pastor and the Rev. Jack Spencer, United Methodist Clergyman, officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, Sandy Twp., Clearfield Co., PA.
