Mrs. Mildred Kaster, 83, of Meadville, widow of Lloyd B. Kaster, died after a brief illness Sunday, January 11, 1981, at Community Hospital, Grove City, where she had been a patient for one month.
She was born in Canal Township, Venango County, December 13, 1897, daughter of Melvin and Elzora Oaks Minnick. She married Kaster August 1, 1945. He died October 1, 1961.
She was a retired school teacher, having taught at Bradford, Meadville, and Sandy Lake schools. For 31 years, she was owner-operator of Causeway Courts Motel, Espyville. She was a graduate of Edinboro State College. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church; national, Pennsylvania and Crawford County retired teacher associations; Meadville Woman's Club; and Golden Crown Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include several cousins.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
