Mildred L. Brown

Mildred L. Brown, 83, of Meadville, died Friday, January 6, 1989, at Meadville Medical Center following an illness of several months.

Miss Brown was born in Meadville, December 21, 1905, a daughter of Fred S. and Mildred Crist Brown.

She retired as administrative assistant for the Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner in Harrisburg after 30 years of service.  She had been a member of the former Meadville City Hospital's ladies advisory committee.  She was a life member and past matron of the Steadfast Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Camp Hill.  She was a past royal matron of the Order of the Amaranth, Mechanicsburg, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of American Colonists, both of Cumberland County.

Survivors include one nephew, Frederick E. Brown of Conneaut Lake; and one great-niece.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Brown and Frederick H. Brown.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
