Mildred (Millie) Louise Hamill, 87, resident of Conneaut Lake, PA, passed away peacefully at Wesbury’s Grace Health Center on January 29, 2015 surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born December 3, 1927 to William John and Dorothy Margaret (Wagner) Boyes at home on Freeman Street in Warren, OH.
She graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, OH in 1946. She was an excellent seamstress and could knit anything. While raising her children she worked at Glady’s Knit Shop. She also worked as an EKG technician at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. She had a green thumb and loved plants and flowers. As a former member of the Iroquois Boating and Fishing Club in Conneaut Lake she spent several years planting and tending flowers and plants there. Millie was an avid Cleveland sports fan especially the Cleveland Indians where she rarely missed a game on television. After her husband Bill retired from Beckett Aviation, they lived in Conneaut Lake in the summer and Naples, FL in the winter.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Douglas Jonathan Julian.
Millie leaves her loving husband of 39 years, William (Bill) Howard Hamill. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Corby Golias (Steve) of Aiken, SC and Vicki White (David, Sr.) of Conneaut Lake; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Lewis Julian of Doylestown, PA. She was most proud of her only grandson, Justin Grant Williams (Jessica) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and her great grand-dog, Yogi. She is survived by her sister, Donna Hampson of Pittsburg, CA. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Barbara Anderson and Eleanor Miller both of Frederick, MD and brother-in-law, Robert Hamill of Carlisle, PA. She had many friends that loved her dearly.
She loved all animals especially her late dog, Bailey and late grand-dog, Aja.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Her cremains will be laid to rest in the columbarium at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery in Conneaut Lake.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Conneaut Lake Bark Park, 12810 Foust Rd., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
