Mildred M. Mattocks

Mildred M. Mattocks, 86, of Wesbury United Methodist Community, formerly of Guys Mills, a housekeeper, died Monday, January 10, 1994, at Wesbury following an extended illness.

She was born in Wayne Township, May 4, 1907, a daughter of Fred and Louisa Irons Rush.  She married Lewis Mattocks, December 26, 1928.  He preceded her in death April 13, 1963.

She was a housekeeper at St. Hippolyte Rectory for 17 years.  She had operated a stand at the Meadville Market House for 27 years, selling baked goods, produce and poultry.  She had also worked at South Hall at Allegheny College for several years.  She was a member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church in Frenchtown, and its altar rosary society.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Leila) Wagner of Guys Mills; a son, Keith Mattocks of Weatherford, TX; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wreatha McKinney of Saegertown and Audrey Lamb of Fruitland Park, FL and a brother, Orville Rush of Westmoreland, TN.  She was preceded in death by three infant sons.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.
