Mildred Marie Yarnell

Mildred Marie (Rough) Yarnell, 91, of Conneaut Lake, and formerly of Saegertown and Brooksville, FL went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday September 26, 2021 at Marquette Hospice House after a brief illness. She was born November 22, 1929 in Cochranton Pa. the daughter of Ernest and Cecil Dilley Rough. She married her childhood sweetheart, Earl W. Yarnell in 1949 who preceded her in death July 28, 2017. Mildred (Millie) was a graduate Cochranton High school in 1946 and the Meadville City Hospital School Nursing as a Registered Nurse in April 1949. She was employed by Dr. Jessup of Meadville until his retirement in 1975 and subsequently as an Intensive Care Nurse at Meadville Medical Center until her retirement in 1991. After a couple years of post-retirement "snow birding" to Florida for the winter months, Earl & Millie moved from Pennsylvania to Wesleyan Village in Brooksville, FL in 1994. In addition to finding a new "home" which they dearly loved and making many friends there, she managed the village dining hall for several years. After Earls death in 2017, she continued to live at Wesleyan Village until July 2020 when she moved back to Pennsylvania to live with her son Robert and wife Cheryl in Conneaut Lake. She loved reading her Bible, biographies and auto-biographies and sitting in her favorite chair to watch the birds at the feeder outside the window. Her fury companion was Dusty the cat. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl W Yarnell, her parents Ernest and Cecil Rough, a sister Janet Urey, and a daughter-in-law Mary Jo Yarnell. She is survived by her sons David Yarnell, Sr. and his wife Susan of Fairview, Pennsylvania and Robert Yarnell and his wife Cheryl of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Pauline Brink and her husband James of Butler and Freda Tenney and her husband Lew of Meadville, Pennsylvania; a brother-in-law, Lou Urey of Avon Park, Florida; five grandchildren, David Yarnell, Jr, Melissa Ann Stewart, Justin Yarnell and wife Brandi, Erin Yarnell and Leah Charles and husband Nate; four great grandchildren, Paige, Dakota, Justin and Madyson; and two nieces and two nephews and their families. Private family services will be held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with Dr. Kevin Chapman, Pastor of United Church of Springboro and Pastor Jerry Pence, Pastor of Brooksville Wesleyan Church, Brooksville, FL, officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
