Mildred J. (Millie) Swartwood, 81, formerly of Conneaut Lake and Ozona, FL, died Monday, April 8, 2002 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville.
She was born March 21, 1921 in Scranton, a daughter of the late Holly and Ruth Kretsch Hess. She married George Edwin Swartwood November 2, 1946 and he preceded her in death November 30, 1974.
She was a graduate of Scranton High School and worked on the kitchen staff at the former Meadville City Hospital. She was a former member of Order of Eastern Star, Salamanca, NY and former member and treasurer of the Ozona Recreational Club, Ozona, FL. She loved crafts, jigsaw puzzles, and cooking. She was loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a former member of Palm Harbor United Methodist Church, Palm Harbor, FL.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda L. Totten (Carl Yount) of Conneaut Lake; a granddaughter, Heather Lynn Wagner; one great-grandson; a sister, Dorothy Irion of Canisteo, NY and many other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Earley.
Services were with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
