Millicent P. Barnes, 97, Meadville Hillside Home, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, died Sunday, December 23, 1990, at the home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Salamanca, NY, August 19, 1893, a daughter of Olin H. and Flora Rice Palmer. She married Edward F. Barnes on March 15, 1921. He preceded her in death August 19, 1944.
She was a homemaker and a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Meadville.
Survivors include two sons, Neil R. Barnes of Ormond Beach, FL and Lynn L. Barnes of Meadville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, the Rev. Malcolm Palmer, a twin, and B. Harvey Palmer.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Ames, officiating.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
