Milton Andrew Minore

Milton Andrew Minore, 72, of Franklin Pike, Meadville, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born February 3, 1929 in Erie, a son of the late Milton A. and Christina Renfrew Minore, Sr.  He married Elizabeth Leberman May 19, 1951 and she preceded him in death May 23, 1970.

He attended Meadville Schools and was in the U.S. Marine Corps., a Veteran of WWII.  He was a Corporal in the Marine Air Casual Squadron Eleven.  He worked from 1948 to 1951 as a dental laboratory technician for D.J. Williams Dental Lab.  He subsequently worked for 38 years as a railroad conductor for the Erie, Erie-Lackawanna, and Conrail Railroads.  He was a 50-year member of Meadville Masonic Lodge #408, member of Coudersport Consistory, Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie, and Crawford County Shrine Club.  He was a lifetime member of the Meadville Club and Meadville Elks Lodge #219.  He was a member and past president of the Taylor Hose Co., Meadville and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2006, Meadville.

He was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Madge Larson of Meadville; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Marty) Ferguson of Meadville and their children, Eric, Andrew, and Elizabeth Ferguson; and a son, Mark A. Minore and his wife, Diane of Meadville and their children, Lindy and Joshua Minore and Joseph and Michelle Peters.

Calling hour will be Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Masonic Service at 1:30 p.m.

A funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David R. Hosick, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16505-5097 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
