Minnie E. Isner

May 16, 1876 — July 30, 1965

Mrs. Minnie E. Isner, 89, resident of the Methodist Home for the Aged since 1952, died at the home Friday morning, July 30, 1965, after a long illness.

She was the widow of the Rev. Carl Arthur Isner, Methodist minister whom she married September 20, 1898.  She served with him in parishes in West Virginia, Maryland and Ohio.  While he attended Westminister Theological Seminary in Maryland, Mrs. Isner studied on the same campus at Western Maryland College.

Following he husband's death in August 1923, she became matron at Ohio State School for the Blind at Columbus.  Later she served as matron at the Ohio Women's Reformation at Marysville and at the Methodist Protestant Home at West Lafayette, OH.  Upon her retirement in 1941, she lived for a time at Pittsburgh, later at Chautauqua, NY, before entering the home at Meadville.

Mrs. Isner was born in Barbour County, WV, May 16, 1876, a daughter of David T. and Julia Baker Sipe.  She was a member of Hurlburt Memorial Church, Chautauqua, and of Marysville, OH, Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
