Mrs. Mittie D. Todd, 81, of Blooming Valley, died at City Hospital, Friday, February 12, 1960, after a long illness.
She had been at the hospital for two weeks.
She was born in the Blooming Valley community, August 11, 1877, daughter of Wellington D. and Jane Hillard Smith, Sr.
Mrs. Todd married Leslie Bruce Todd, May 23, 1906. He died February 20, 1950.
She was a member of the Crafton Heights Methodist Church, Pittsburgh, for 40 years. She was a member of Blooming Valley Methodist Church and of the Woman's Society for Christian Service of the church.
She graduated from Edinboro State Normal School in 1901 and received a 50-year pin from the college in 1951 and in 1956 she received a 55 year pin.
Mrs. Todd taught school in Pittsburgh for 19 years, in Ohio schools for six years and in Blooming Valley for three years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Katherine) Gilmore of Blooming Valley, with whom she lived, a son, Kenneth V. of Riverside, CA; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
