Muriel H. Kangas

Muriel H. Kangas, 74, of Meadville, died Sunday, March 24, 1996 at Meadville Medical Center, following a period of declining health.

She was born October 2, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Wilber and Frances Beatrice Grant Garrison.  She married Oscar Harold Kangas and he preceded her in death March 19, 1980.  She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Shaffer of Meadville, Deborah Prepodnik of Medford, Long Island, NY and Sharon Gable of Saegertown; six sons, Edward O'Connor of Brooklyn, NY, Ronny Kangas of Port Jefferson Station, NY, Joseph Kangas of Center Moriches, NY, Jerry Kangas of Shirley, NY, Clifford Kangas of Pembroke Pines, FL and Tim Kangas of Pembroke Pines, FL; three brothers, Kenneth, Raymond and Stanley Garrison; five sisters, Beatrice Garrison, Hazel Peters, Natalie Whitcomb, Delores Vignera and Bernice Orlando; and twenty-four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Kangas, a sister, Lorraine Garrison and two brothers, William and Howard Garrison.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
