Myra Jewell Oakes

Miss Myra Jewell Oakes, formerly of Meadville, died Saturday evening, August 7, 1971, at Baptist Home, Pittsburgh.  She had been in failing health.

Miss Oakes was born in Meadville, a daughter of Avery Gustavus and Sylvia Lewis Oakes.  She was a graduate of Meadville High School and attended Allegheny College.  She had belonged to First Baptist Church here for more years than any other living member and had been an active member of the Missionary Society for many years.

Several cousins are the only survivors.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Miss Olive Oakes and two brothers.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
