Myrtle “Myrt” Krueger, 90, of 631 Randolph St. died Friday Dec. 7, 2001, at the Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in West Mead Twp. Jan. 5, 1911, a daughter of John and Ada Peterman Emmel. She was married to Karl Krueger who preceded her in death March 7, 1964.
She was a l928 graduate of Meadville High School and had worked at Talon for 15 years. She retired in 1974 as Assistant to the Director of the Meadville YMCA after 31 years. She especially enjoyed and was appreciated by the many young men growing up participating in activities at the YMCA. She was a member and former Elder of the Gravel Run Presbyterian Church of Woodcock, and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Meadville YMCA.
Survivers, include two sons, Karl Krueger of Marana, AZ and Donald Krueger and his wife Marilyn of Meadville; 5 grandchildren, Donald M. Krueger, W. Dale Krueger, Dianne Kearney, Keith Krueger, and Trishia Hunter; eleven great grandchildren and a brother the Rev. Edwin Emmel of Meadville.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Jessie and Althea, and a brother William.
Calling hours will be Monday from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Clark, Pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
