Nancy A. Baseflug

Nancy A. Baseflug, 78 of Jackson Center, passed away on April 11, 2021 at UPMC Passavant. Nancy was born in Grove City on July 13, 1942 to the late Myron and Ethel Mae (Jewell) Vredenburg. She was a 1960 graduate of Lakeview High School. She worked for 18 years at UPMC Horizon in Greenville as a Ward Secretary, eventually retiring in July 2000. Nancy was a longtime member of Jackson Center Presbyterian Church being involved in many aspects over her years. She enjoyed going camping and boating. She also enjoyed gardening and giving flowers to her friends and family. She was a dedicated Lakeview Sailors fan, traveling to numerous sporting events to support her children and grandchildren and became known as “Grandma Nancy” to many. She was an avid basketball fan, enjoying NCAA Women’s Basketball and March Madness. She was known for her sweetness and kindness and was known as one of the original “Jackson Center Mom's" to many neighborhood kids. Most of all, she loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. Nancy married her beloved husband, Larry M. Baseflug on October 20, 1972, he survives at home. She is also survived by her children Laurie (Randy) Hardesty of jackson center, Linda "Tink" (Tom) Park of Stoneboro, Michael (Bobbi) Davis of Greenville, Lynn (Shane) Reynolds of Sandy Lake; grandchildren Joscelyn (Cody) Ebbert, Logan and Morgan Snyder, Brentton and Ashlee Reynolds; Stepchildren Matthew (Teresa) Baseflug of North Dakota, Tina (Ovidio) Marquez and Bryan Baseflug of Texas, and their many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her sister Betty Scott of Stoneboro and Brother Kenneth Vredenburg of South Carolina as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her infant brother Myron Lee Vredenburg, her beloved Aunt Jane and Uncle Bill Young whom raised her, and her grandson Michael Hardesty. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Thursday, April 15. Additional visitation will be from 10 – 11 am on Friday, April 16 until the time of the service at 11 am at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Crane, officiating. Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Nancy’s name to the Michael Hardesty Memorial Scholarship, Community Foundation – 7 West State Street, Suite 301, Sharon, PA 16146.
