Nancy E. Anderson

Nancy E. Anderson, 85, formerly of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Crawford County Care Center following a period of declining health.

She was born August 3, 1937 in Johnsonburg, a daughter of Arthur and Louise Polinski Benson.  She married David E. Anderson November 29, 1958 and he preceded her in death August 3, 2017.

Nancy was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School.  A homemaker, she also worked at National Tel-Tronics in Meadville.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, crossword puzzles, and especially supporting her grandchildren by attending all their activities and events.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Backhus (Fred “Buzz”) of Warren and Trina Brace (Robert) of Meadville; four grandchildren, Fred (Swede) Backhus (Brittany), Tiffany Larson (Erik), Aaron Brace (Nicole), and Alec Brace (Brooke); six great-grandchildren, Frederick, Annalyn, and Dottie Backhus, Otto Larson, and Bodhi and Quinn Brace; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Wally, Alfred, and David Benson; and three sisters, Ethel Steudler, Zelphia Beardsley, and Betty Benson.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 18th from 10-11 a.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Ewing of First Lutheran Church, Warren, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
