Nancy Eve Monnin

Nancy Eve Monnin, 63, of 886 N. Main Street Ext., Meadville, PA died at home surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, December 26, 2004 following a nine-month battle with leukemia.

She was born June 25, 1941 in Meadville, PA the daughter of Edward J. and Margaret Grace Hollabaugh Axtell.  She married Donald N. Monnin November 24, 1958.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Meadville, PA former adult Sunday School teacher, church board member and co-director of Adult Ministries.  She traveled with her husband to Ecuador, Guatemala and LaSoto, Africa on Work & Witness Mission Building Teams.

Nancy was an avid quilter and was a member of the Loose Stitches Quilters Guild.  She taught quilting and was recognized for her work at various quilt shows, including winning several ribbons at the Crawford County (PA) Fair.  She also worked part time at the former Quilt Square.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society.  She also enjoyed studying the Bible, traveling, gardening and crossword puzzles.  She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother who dearly loved her two grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 46 years, include: three daughters, Karen Doolittle of Centreville, VA, Diane Monnin of Canal Winchester, OH and Connie Webb and her husband Bill of Centreville, VA; one son, Norman Monnin of Meadville; one sister, Jenny Lee Magoon and her husband Homer of Erie; two grandchildren, Natalie Grace Webb and William Frank Webb III and cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one grandson, Wyatt Earl Webb.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at Church of the Nazarene, 851 Washington Street, Meadville, PA.  The funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rodney Johnson, Pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville, PA.
