Nancy Crim Snyder, 82, of Meadville died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Wesbury United Methodist Community from complications of Parkinsons disease. She was born August 20, 1935 in Springfield, IL a daughter of Fannie Elbertson. She was adopted and raised by her mothers cousin, William R. Crim and his wife Mamie E. Myers Crim. She married Donald E. Snyder April 7, 1957 in Springfield, IL and he survives. She was a 1953 graduate of Rochester Illinois High School where she was active in many school plays and musicals, sang in the acapella choir and played piano in the orchestra and string trio. She was also active in many church activities. Following graduation she worked as a secretary at the Springfield, IL district office of Socony Mobil Oil Company (now Exxon Mobil) until 1957. Nancy and Don then moved to Chicago where she worked as a secretary in the advertising department of Sunbeam Corporation. In August 1958, they transferred to Meadville and she worked as a secretary in the Sales Department until 1960. After the birth of their first child, she stayed at home raising their four children. She then worked part time as a secretary for the Crawford Central School District. During her years with Crawford Central, she also worked in the school library and technology office. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, Charter member of the Ark Society, sang in the church choir, played in the carillon bell choir and served on the Board of Trustees and the board of Stone Churchs Child Care program. She was a member of Junior Womens Club of Meadville, Cub Scout den mother and cookie co-ordinator for Girl Scout cookie sales for many years, board member of Fairview/Fairmont Outreach Committee and Wesbury Sunset Auxiliary and co-chaired Wesburys annual barbeque book sale for several years. She also enjoyed playing the piano for Wesbury residents for many years. Survivors, in addition to her husband Donald, of 61 years, include: two daughters, Debra Lynn (Gerald "Butch") Seevers of East Liverpool, OH and Beth Ann (Daniel) Rosenthal of Richmond, VA; two sons, Dr. James Roy (Dr. Michelle, DC) Snyder, DC of Spokane, WA and Kenneth Edward (Jennifer) Snyder of Ashburn, VA; four grandsons, Kiel and Isaac Seevers and Ethan and William Snyder, two granddaughters, Lindsey and Monica Rosenthal and a great grandson, Rory Seevers. Visitation will be Sunday, July 8th from 12-1 p.m. at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main Street, Meadville. The memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville. She will be sadly missed, but at last she is in peace and will suffer no more. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stone United Methodist Church (Music Fund), 956 S. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or a charity of the donors choice.
