Mrs. Nancy Shaffer McDaniel, 81, died Thursday morning after a short illness at her home in Meadville.
She had been a resident in Meadville 21 years, having previously lived in Cooperstown. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church and Mrs. Jenkin's Bible Class.
Mrs. McDaniel was born August 28, 1859, near Cochranton. She was married to John Shaffer in 1885 who died in 1893. In 1902, she married John H. McDaniel who succumbed in 1920, after which she came to this city to make her home with a daughter, Miss Emma A. Shaffer.
Survivors include a daughter, Miss Emma Shaffer of Meadville; a son, John W. Shaffer of Cooperstown; a step-son, Walter McDaniel of Franklin; a brother, A. E. Klinger and a sister, Mrs. J. A. Lubold, both of Cochranton; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
