Naomi Ruth (Luther) Sandell

August 4, 1933 — November 13, 2009

Naomi Ruth Luther Sandell, 76, of Conneaut Lake and a resident of Rolling Fields Nursing Home, died there, Friday, November 13, 2009

She was born in Raleigh, NC August 4, 1933 a daughter of William Connie and Cora Catherine Smith Andrews.

She was a veteran of the Korean War and served for 4 years in the US Air Force, 3 years in the US Navy and 8 years in the US Army.  She was stationed in Korea, Japan and Alabama.  Following her retirement from the military she worked for 6 years for the US Postal Service in West Palm Beach, FL.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and she was a former member of the West Palm Beach American Legion.  She was an accomplished oil painter and avid reader.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

Survivors, include: two daughters, Virginia D. (Ginny) Hetrick and her husband Chuck of Hartstown and Catherine L. (Cathy) Mihalko of Conneaut Lake; two sons, Walter R. (Ronnie) Luther, Jr. and his wife Karen of Meadville and William C. (Bill) Luther and his wife Michelle of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren, April J. Luther, Jamie C. Longo and her husband Jason, Nathan C. Hetrick and his fiancée McKencie, Corey Mihalko and his wife Darling, Ashley Mihalko, Trisha Katcher and her husband Jorel, Rachel Luther and Abigail Luther; six great grandchildren, Cambrie, Carlie, Irulan, Dawson, Angelina and Elizabeth; a sister, LeNeve Giamarrco of Palm Springs, FL and a brother, William Connie Andrews and his wife Mary Lou of West Palm Beach, FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Nathan Luther and two sisters, Louise M. Young and Shirley Kraszewski

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.  The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial with military honors provided by Harm Jan Huidekoper VFW Post #2006 will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
