Nathan Daniel Smith, 32 of Sandy Lake, passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2018 at Grove City Medical Center. Nathan was born on September 26, 1985 in Greenville to William “Bill” E. Smith and Pauline A. “Polly” Rosio Smith, both survive. Nathan was a 2004 Graduate of Lakeview High School and went on to serve his Country for 5 years in the United States Navy, having been deployed all over the world and multiple in the Middle East. After his time in the Navy, Nathan attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania and earned his Associates Degree in Industrial Technology. Nathan had worked at GHAC Heating and Air Conditioning in Greenville, Loves Plumbing and Heating in New Castle, and most recently employed at Clinch-Tite Packaging in Sandy Lake. Nathan was an outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking, often times hiking all day long. He loved his family very much and spending time with his nieces. He was a member of Countryside Evangelical Church. In addition to his parents, Nathan is survived by his siblings Ryan Smith of Sandy Lake, Lindsay Hupp and husband Lance of Beaver PA, and Elise Fedorka and husband Thomas of Sandy Lake, two nieces Juliette and Savannah, maternal grandmother Sarah Rosio of DuBois, Aunt Elaine Hallahan of DuBois, and Aunt Jane Carlson of Sykesville, Uncle Don Smith and wife Regine of Sykesville, and Uncle Larry Rosio and wife Marylou of Erie, as well as many cousins. Nathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Paul Rosio, paternal grandparents Glenn and Alvera Smith, and uncle Terry Carlson. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome on Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 3-4 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at the funeral home following visitation at 4 pm with Pastor Don Howell, pastor of Countryside Evangelical Church, officiating. Full Military Honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard following the service.
