Nellie (Mclamb) Holden Harvell

Nellie McLamb Holden Harvell, 95, of Bolivia, NC died Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Crawford County Care Center.

She was born August 19, 1917 in Shallotte, NC a daughter of George and Geneva Mintz McLamb.  She married George Rutherford Holden March 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1978.  Later she married Woodrow Harvell and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Nellie assisted her husband Rutherford in the family tobacco and timber farming business.  Later in life Nellie developed her talent for landscape painting and frequently exhibited in the Southport and Shallotte, NC areas.

She is survived by two nephews, Dr. James R. McLamb and his wife Beverly of Meadville and Raymond McLamb and his wife Deborah of Pensacola, FL and three nieces, Judith Edminster of Indianapolis, IN, Betty Lewis and her husband Tom of Lake Wales, FL and Ann Thompson and her husband George of Gonzales, LA.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Collins McLamb, Manley McLamb and Fred McLamb and a sister, Mary McLamb.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Holden Family Cemetery, Stone Chimney Road, Supply, NC.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Care Center, 20881 State Hwy 198, Saegertown, PA 16433 or the Wesbury Hillside Home, 535 Williamson Road, Meadville, PA 16335.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
