Died Wed. July 23, 2003, at Univ. Hosp., Cleveland.
She was born in Geneva, PA a daughter of Melvin Lee and Francis Hart Bailey. She married Dr. Jack Battersby November 28, 1953 and he survives.
She was an accomplished artist, musician (organist) and an excellent interior decorator. She was an art instructor in Richmond Heights and Mentor, OH school districts and she was the owner of the import jewelry store, The Jade Tree in Mentor, OH. She was an active member of the Quota Club of Lake County. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include: a son, Dr. Gregg Battersby and his wife Amy,Kirtland, OH; a daughter, Dr. Jacquelyn Bond and her husband Dr. Bruce, Beachwood, OH; and 4 grandchildren, a sister, Lois Shaffer, Melbourne, FL; a brother, Harry Bailey and his wife Janet, Melbourne, Fl. Visitation will be Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake, PA.
Services will be Sunday 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Stanley, Rev. Douglas Dunton and Rev. Fred Bailey all relatives of the deceased, officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville, PA.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Good Shepard Wesleyan Church, 501 Cinnamon Drive, Satellite Beach, FL 32937.
