Norman E. Buckley, 84 of Sandy Lake, passed away on May 17, 2019. Norman was born in Sandy Lake on August 22, 1934 to the late Hilbert and Elma Dick Buckley. He was a graduate of Sandy Lake High School. Norman worked the Buckley Brother’s family farm outside of Sandy Lake for many years. He loved farming and would still be seen riding his tractor. He loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing. After retiring from farming Norman worked for Adobe Mining, and H & H Materials. He also enjoyed taking care of and perfecting his lawn. He will be remembered as a hardworking, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He married his beloved wife, Marilyn Carnahan Buckley on April 7, 1956, she preceded him in death on July 19, 2007. Norman is survived by his children, Wanda (Bill) Welton of Fredonia, Brenda (Dave) Knauss of Sandy Lake, and Cindy (Jeff) Kaltenbaugh of Sandy Lake, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, a brother Willard Buckley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Norman was preceded in death by sisters Nancy Bartholomew and Berta Johns, and brother David Buckley. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of STONEBORO, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 4 - 7 pm on Tuesday, May 21. A brief prayer service will take place at the funeral home at 7 pm. Interment will take place in New Lebanon Cemetery at 10 am on Wednesday, May 22.
