Norman Earl Waid

Norman Earl Waid, 81, of Guys Mills died Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.

He was born in Randolph Township, March 23, 1919, a son of Earl R. and Marian H. Byham Waid.  He married Regina Roche August 27, 1946, and she survives.

He had been employed as an automobile mechanic for Terrill Brothers Garage of Guys Mills for 31 years, and later was Maintenance Supervisor for Penncrest School District in the Saegertown Schools for 10 years.

He was a member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, Frenchtown.

He was a charter member of Randolph Township VFD.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include one daughter, Coralett Jones (William) of Meadville; one son, Norman A. Waid (Daphne) of Meadville; three grandchildrenm Diane, Kara and Adam Jones; two great-grandchildren, Kala Withers and Haley Jones; three brothers, Howard Waid of Texas, Russell Waid of Sarasota, FL and David Waid of Cambridge Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Addy Waid and three brothers, Alex, Leverett and Charles Waid.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
