Norman W. Appenrodt, 68, of Cullum Street, Meadville, died Saturday April 12, 1980, at Mead Nursing Home Inc., where he had been a patient since January. He had been ill for the past year.
He was born in Pittsburgh October 21, 1911, a son of Walter C. and Frances Riemann Appenrodt. He married Ruth Weiser on June 11, 1949.
He retired from Talon, a division of Textron, after 35 years in the payroll department.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and the church's MCR Class. He also served on the board of deacons at the church.
He was member of Christian Laymen's Gospel League and assisted in conducting services at Crawford County Jail for many years. He also was past president of Lake Erie Bible Conference from 1957-76.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two aunts, Mrs. Thoedore (Freda) Fox of Meadville and Mrs. Ann Appenrodt of Mars; and several cousins.
Services were held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. James McIntosh of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
