Norris R. Young

Norris R. Young, 79, of Linesville, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family following a short illness.

He was born November 18, 1931 in Sugar Creek Township, Venango County, a son of the late William and Marjorie Whitesell Young.  He married Barbara Jean Davis September 1, 1956 and she survives.

Norris was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954 stationed in England.  He was employed as a tool and die maker for 20 years for General Electric in Conneaut, OH and previously worked at Talon.

He was affiliated with the Linesville United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Barbara of 54 years, include five children, Nancy Keas and her husband Gerry of Conneaut Lake, Mark Young and his wife Cheryl of Cochranton, Sharon Young and her long time companion, George Benavides of Odessa, TX, Lisa Fizer of Meadville, and Steven Young of Greensburg; two brothers, Gary Young and his wife Cindy of Grove City and William Young of Saegertown; two sisters, Bonnie Fernberg and her husband Clair of Florida and Cheryl Young of Conneaut Lake; Fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

At the family's request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family with interment in Linesville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake.
