Mrs. Oleta K. Fordyce, 86, formerly of Pittsburgh, a resident of Guys Mills, for the past 10 years, widow of Dr. James Fordyce, died Monday September 22, 1986, at Meadville Medical Center following a month-long illness.
Mrs. .Fordyce was born in Fayette City, April 20, 1900, a daughter of Frank and Cora Stephens Kinnear, Sr. She married Dr. Fordyce in 1936. He preceded her in death in 1958.
Mrs. Fordyce worked as a registered nurse for 55 years in several hospitals and nursing homes in Pittsburgh. She was a member of United Methodist Denomination, Pittsburgh, and was a gradaute of West Penn Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Mark (Betty) Dworshak of Guys Mills, Mrs. Mary Kelley of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Frank (Frances) Bausman of Meadville and Mrs. Roland (Mildred) Putnam of Spartansbrug, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
