Olive L. Bowlin, 92, a retired school teacher, died Tuesday, January 8, 1991 at Meadville Medical Center after a period of failing health. She had been a patient at Wesbury United Methodist Community since August 1986.
She was born in Pittsburgh on December 29, 1898, a daughter of William and Ida Mae Bungard Bowlin.
Miss Bowlin was a 1919 graduate of Hood College and obtained her bachelor of arts degree and master of art degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She retired in 1964 from Taylor-Alderice High School as head of the English and Ancient Languages Department after a lifetime of teaching. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Meadville, the Order of the Eastern Star of Pittsburgh and the retired Teachers Assoc.
Survivors include one niece, Mrs. Paul (Margaret Ruth) Smith of Meadville; and three great-nieces. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Ruth Miller and Enda B. Christy.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
