Olive M. Lasher, 95, formerly of Venango and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center for the past year, died there, Saturday, September 05, 2015.
She was born in Bedford, OH January 11, 1920 a daughter of Merritt and Henrietta Preston Lasher.
She was a 1938 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School and a 1941 graduate of the Jaqua Beauty School in Erie. She owned and operated the Olive Lasher Beauty Shop in Cambridge Springs for 10 years and then subsequently over the years worked in the office of the Carnation Milk Co. in Cambridge Springs, N/W Rural Electric in Cambridge Springs, GTI Corp in Saegertown and finally in the Crawford County Domestic Relations office, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of the Venango United Methodist Church, a former member of the Meadville YWCA and a former member of the Mead Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and Trinity White Shrine.
She is survived by two nieces, Valerie Shorts in Maryland and Louise Lasher in Arizona; three nephews, Robert, James and George Lasher all in Tennessee and special friends, Debbie and Charles Smith of Venango and Linda Hasbrouck of Meadville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Coulter and three brothers, John, Albert and Robert Lasher and two nephews, William and John Lasher.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Crawford County Care Center and Hospice of Crawford County for their wonderful care and support.
A private family graveside service will be held in Venango Cemetery.
