Opal A. Maloney

Opal A. Maloney, 90, of Meadville, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at Wesbury United Methodist Community. She was born October 23, 1926 in Diamond, PA, a daughter of Lee Roy and Bessie Leona Bossard Davison. She married Harold R. Maloney September 21, 1946 and he preceded her in death September 1, 1991. Opal was a 1944 graduate of Titusville High School. She was employed as an inspector at Talon for 14 years. She previously worked at GTI, Saegertown for 15 years, Carlisles in Meadville for over 13 years, and at Wesbury for over 5 years. A member of Grace United Methodist Church, Opal was also a member of the Meadville Elks Lodge 219 auxiliary and a former member of the Meadville Medical Center auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and playing cards. Survivors include a son, Mark Maloney and his wife Brenda of Forest, VA; two daughters, Karen Wright and her husband Mark of Meadville and Kathy Randazzo and her husband David of Meadville; seven grandchildren, Scott Wright of Meadville, Brett Wright of Los Angeles, CA, Amalia Maloney of Denia, Spain, Mark Joseph Maloney of Forest, VA, Brendan Maloney of Corpus Christi, TX, Samuel Randazzo of Pittsburgh, and Jonathan Randazzo of Los Angeles, CA; three step-grandchildren, Justin Goins (Erin), Amanda Beaty (Dustin), and Tyler Goins, all of Lynchburg, VA; a step-great-grandson, Owen Beaty; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son; a grandson, Timothy Randazzo; four brothers, Everett, Donald, Francis, and Kelvin (Bud) Davison; and a sister, Marjorie Exley. Calling hours will be Monday, June 19th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rebecca Patterson, Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 828 N.
