Orlando Joseph Leri

November 24, 1915 — March 9, 1987

Orlando Joseph (Lon) Leri, 71, of Meadville, died Monday, March 9, 1987, at Meadville Medical Center following a one-month illness. He was born in Freeport, November 24, 1915, a son of Eugene and Scholastica Molli Leri. He married Sarah LoBue April 24, 1938. Mr. Leri was a graduate of Townville High School. He retired in 1978 as a machine operator at Talon, Inc., where he had worked for 41 years. He and his wife owned and operated Leri's Grocery Store for 11 years. He also was the developer of Buena Vista Allotment. He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and the church's Holy Name Society. A former member of the Italian Civic Club, he was a member of the International Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. C. Leroy (Dianna) Armour of Meadville, Mrs. Pat (Georgia) Abbondanza of Meadville and Mrs. Edward (Barbara) Burkett of Meadville; a son, Dr. James E. Leri of Harbor Creek; four sisters, Mrs. Santi (Victoria) Molli and Mrs. Joseph (Dalia) LoBue, both of Townville, Mrs. Elda Riede and Mrs. Harry (Ines) Mason, both of Meadville; a brother, Russell Leri of Townville; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in St. Brigid Cemetery. Services Past Services
